July is Disability Pride Month! 🌟

This year, we also commemorate 35 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a landmark civil rights legislation signed into law on July 26, 1990, that continues to tear down barriers every day.

At Thompson School District, inclusion isn’t a one-day conversation: nearly one in five of our students—and hundreds of teachers, staff, family, and community members—identify as having a disability. Their creativity, resilience, and diverse ways of thinking enrich every classroom.

Individuals with disabilities serve as leaders and innovators throughout our world. Explore just a few examples of famous people with disabilities and their tremendous contributions.

Statewide, about one in four Colorado adults lives with a disability, reminding us that accessibility benefits everyone.
