We Teach (Elevating Minds)

At BHS, instruction is the facilitator of intellectual growth. We intentionally design learning experiences that foster the human skills required for the modern world.

At BHS We:

  • Build intentional relationships to anchor the learning process.
  • Coach critical thinking to help students evaluate and apply knowledge.
  • Develop future-ready skills, specifically focusing on Communication, Collaboration, Adaptability, and Critical Thinking.

We Respond (Enriching Lives)

A supportive environment is the prerequisite for Enriching Lives. We operate under the strategic conviction that accountability and belonging are required. We respond to modern challenges with engagement and high expectations.

At BHS We:

  • Maintain high expectations ensuring rigor for each learner.
  • Build strong relationships forging connections which are a key to student attendance.
  • Develop meaningful accountability preparing students for the responsibilities of life after high school.
  • Provide a safe environment.

We Improve (Empowering Futures)

Excellence is not a destination but the relentless pursuit of improvement.

 At BHS We:

  • Adapt to the shifting world our students will be entering as graduates.
  • We use data as a means to measure our effectiveness with engagement and relevance.
  • We monitor if we are effectively cultivating the traits of a Spartan graduate.

Our Unchanging Purpose

The world our students inherit will continue to evolve; however, our commitment to the community of Berthoud High School remains the constant: To elevate minds, to empower futures, to enrich lives because our business is kids.
